This is a great question and one that I get asked quite often by people who are thinking of getting into the disability field. Here is my advice, don’t get caught up in what you think is the best law firm for disability lawyers in florida or even if they have an A rated lawyer on their team. That doesn’t matter too much; What matters most when it comes to choosing a good attorney and/or law firm is actually two things: (1) how knowledgeable your attorney(s) will be about dealing with Social Security Disability cases and (2) how well he will communicate with you throughout the process.
What do I mean? Well, let me give you some examples from personal experience where this was critical to choosing between attorneys: 1.) When talking to an attorney about whether or not they could handle my case on contingency fee basis, I would ask them whether or not they had any “bad clients” because if so we would likely never work together due to our different personalities and communication styles. 2.) If either of these two questions were answered differently than expected then we would probably never work together regardless of anything else. So basically speaking there needs to be some type of trust built up between both parties before going forward with any legal action against the government which means that all communication must go through each other instead of over- email or via letters back & forth as many attorneys feel this gives them more time while effectively giving less information
