Best States For Young Lawyers?

The best state for young lawyers is not always the safest. In fact, when it comes to safety, New Jersey ranks 50th in our study, while Florida and California rank No. 1 and No. 2 respectively. So which states are better suited for younger professionals? We looked at a few factors: cost of living; average starting salaries; unemployment rate; median home price; retiree population growth compared to new entrants into the job market (i.e., baby boomers); number of working women under 45 years old per 100 working men under 30 years old per capita spending on housing by age group calculating violent crime rates using FBI data measuring overall quality of life using Gallup polls measuring commute times on a 0-10 scale where 10 is worst
