The answer is: it’s a great place to meet and talk about the law. And this year we had more than 350 of our members in attendance at the booth, plus even more people who wanted to stop by for a chat. Another point of pride? We’ve been able to make headway toward eliminating sexual harassment from the legal scene—a lot of our attendees were new lawyers, many of them women or minorities (in fact, I was one such minority), and they came specifically because we held court on that topic. It was gratifying to see so many eager faces turn up wanting some help with their careers while still putting into practice what we teach in class: how not only can you stand up for yourself but also that you’re just as capable as anyone else when it comes time to assert your rights.
