Best Places For Corporate Lawyers?

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I’ve heard it said more than once that the best place for a new lawyer to begin their career is in New York. I’m not sure why it holds true, but here are some things you should consider if you want to work there:

New York is one of the most expensive cities in which to live—and even more so if you have children. To save money on rent and childcare costs, start your job hunting efforts where you can find apartments that will come with free babysitters. If you don’t mind living outside the city (in Brooklyn or Long Island City), look at housing prices there as well; they are cheaper than Manhattan by about $1,000 per month. You also might be able to get a good deal on preschools near those neighborhoods off-peak hours (or even during non-school hours). And of course, since New York has all sorts of perks like first class flight benefits and high end apartment buildings on every corner these days, starting out early can help set up future law firm salaries accordingly—so long as you convince your employer that working for less would be bad for them! It seems like everyone lives or works close together nowadays…but NYC isn’t nearly as densely packed as other major metropolitan areas around the world anymore. In fact, according to The Economist , “[The population density] has been falling steadily from its peak just after World War II
