Take your pick of the best lawyers for suing car company? Quote: You can buy a used car. But you shouldn’t drive it until you’ve had the transmission fluid changed once.
I think all my posts were related to this one, which is pretty much what I said here; that having worked in customer service most of my life, I would never recommend anyone buying an automobile or any other product without first making sure ALL maintenance is up to date (oil changes, etc.). That includes inspecting the cooling system and hoses (which are often dry-rotted) every couple years no matter how old the vehicle may be – ESPECIALLY if it’s been sitting unused for some time! And yes, if there are problems with your oil change people will not want to know….but whether they do or don’t probably says more about them than anything else – being knowledgeable doesn’t mean they’re good at their job 😛 So many times I have seen cars on blocks waiting for repairs that have needed nothing but careful inspection/maintenance over several years…and then suddenly needing new parts just because someone goofed off with their oil service! Oh yeah, and thanks for posting this thread…it was very interesting!
