What’s your favorite design book?
The one that really changed the way I look at patterns. You can find it by googling “pattern language,” but really what I recommend is reading Pattern Making for Fashion Design by Daniele Alessandrini (2001). It came out when House of Cards was in its last season on Netflix (I think), and it’s a great read even if you don’t watch the show. There are also books like this called “pattern languages for product design,” which is where the idea comes from—and there are some good ones out there. But nothing beats picking up something written in 2001 about how to wear clothes better than most people do today.
