The most recent data shows that San Francisco is the best job market for new lawyers, according to a survey conducted by The National Association of Legal Career Professionals and Thomson Reuters.
San Francisco had the highest percentage of career opportunities in three categories — at least one full-time job offer and two part-time jobs, as well as an opening for a management position — with Silver Spring, Md., at No. 2. Chicago was third.
In addition to those top cities on both sides of the bay, Washington D.C., Boston and New York rounded out the top five list. In all other metro areas surveyed except Atlanta (No 15) and Orlando (No 17), there were no offers or openings for lawyers looking for work in their city this year, according to NALCP/TR’s annual Job Market Snapshot Survey report released Aug 25 by consulting firm BDO USA LLP based on 2011 figures from legal services industry organizations across the U.S..
