Best California Employment Lawyers For Women?

Why are women underrepresented in the legal field?

In 2014, it became illegal for employers to ask prospective employees about their salary history. The new rule goes into effect on October 1, 2016 and applies to all employers who do business with the state or federal government. It does not apply to private-sector employers. However, there is no law that prevents an employer from asking you about your salary history if they believe it may help them determine whether you will be a good fit for their company or job. So this news article is not specific enough on how “old” that information has to be before they can refuse your application based on it.
