There are many great books to read for lawyers. These books can be helpful when you want to learn more about the law and how it affects our daily lives. If you wish to supplement your legal research with an enjoyable read, below is my list of best books to read for lawyers:
13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher (Lawyer) This book tells a story that takes place in high school and deals with one main character who decides she wants everyone in her life dead after she receives 13 cassette tapes which reveal their secrets and reasons why they deserve death. The mystery behind these tapes leads readers down a path of discovery where they try to discover all of the characters’ hidden motives until the very end. I would recommend this book because it follows a young girl named Hannah Baker as she struggles through her last year at Liberty High School which shows what happens when teenagers express their feelings without thinking first about what other people may think or say about them during such vulnerable times in their lives.
The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at Lake Okeechobee by Daniel James Brown (lawyer) A fictional tale based on true events told from multiple perspectives, “The Boys In The Boat” tells the story of nine college students from different backgrounds—including African American athletes from segregated universities—who band together on two boats competing against each other over three challenging years between 1930-1932 on Lake Okeechobee near Florida
